Life Chez Dee Episode #88: What a load of rubbish
What a beautiful place I live; I never tire of it. Every time I walk along the shore, the prom, the green I always have a moment’s pause to think, marvel, appreciate where I am, what I see; taking in that smell of the clean fresh air; the smell of the sea. Walking along the shore is interesting, so many interesting bits and bobs, natural or unnatural, lying abandoned having been brought in with the tide. Early risers walking the beach get first pickings at any treasure … the

Life Chez Dee Episode #86: Why I love living here
Lytham St Annes… when you speak to people out of the area about where you live, many have no idea where it is … never heard of it … can’t picture it. Some can’t even pronounce it, even saying Lytham Street Annes for goodness sake. If I had a pound for the number of times I’ve explained to people where it is, I’d be one rich lady. And so I have to think of somewhere nearby that they will have heard of … South of the Lake District … South of Morecambe, North of Manchester … but

Life Chez Dee Episode #15: Club Day '19
Never having taken part in the Club Day parade, and never having thought about entering the charity, I was persuaded to take part by Dickon. Dickon, for those who don't know, is a friend, and massive helper and supporter of all things #forEdward ... and indeed Club Day. I chatted with Dickon a few times, he was really keen that we should be in the parade… go on he said … it’ll be fun he said … it will be good for the charity he said … you’ll love it he said … we can go overb

Life Chez Dee Episode #8: Walking with Poles
So today I decided to try out Nordic walking. I’ve been thinking for quite some time now that I need to get back to getting my backside into gear and doing a bit of exercise. I’m so busy with so many things; the kids, the charity, just life in general, and its so easy to get out of the habit of exercise, and, certainly in my case, pile the pounds on too. I’ve done power walking before, well fast walking anyhow. I tried doing fast walking rather than running as I hated running
